I am doing well on the new diet. I have been very careful to follow the 1200 diet as closely as I can. With being on the fast, I can't have bread, meat or sweets. So for lunch today and yesterday, I had a Boca Burger (veggie patty) with a slice of Am cheese, a little mayo, some tomato and wrapped up in an iceberg lettuce leaf. I really like this. C3 and I had this for dinner on Monday and we both enjoyed it. I am having the left overs for lunch. The whole thing has about 188 calories, not bad for a lunch.
I had a bowl of oatmeal (brown sugar & maple flavor) late last night, I just wanted something warm and filling and I thought that was a good choice, but this morning I was up by just a little over a pound. I am now at 355.1 and yesterday I was at 353.9. The oatmeal? I know I shouldn't weigh every day but I just look so forward to seeing what progress I have made, but sometimes like today, it can be discouraging. I am not letting it bother me and I am not quitting this time. I just need to do like Allan says and "eat less and move more"!!
I wore my tennis shoes to work today so that I can walk up and down the block before I go home. I don't get up early enough in the am to do it anymore and when I get home, fix dinner, all I want to do is sit in front of the tv and veg out or get on the computer. So, I thought if I did it before I even left work...it would work. We'll see. I had also planned to take a lunch break and walk then, too, but it has been a busy day and I was unable to "clock out" for lunch.

My church is doing the corporate fast as well, and you're doing better than I am. I decided to fast by cutting back on Facebook games, using the time I would normally spend playing games to read the Bible. A chapter of John every day and some time praying after. I don't feel like the fast is as hard as last year when I did the Daniel fast, so I almost feel I'm gypping myself.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool!! Usually in my family, only me and my youngest do the fast. I think this is our 6th or 7th year. We change it every year. Sometimes I will drink only water for the 21 days or not read romance novels, my second weakness! We tend to eat a lot of not so healthly non-meat meals, like tater tots and lots of pasta. This year, we are making better choices, more salads and fruits and veggies, instead of carbs. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI am a scale freak, I hop on there a couple of times a day even though I KNOW I shouldn't! The scale doesn't always cooperate but what you're doing IS working! You might go ahwile with no results but it IS working! You'll be amazed when you are able to buy a new swimsuit this summer! :-)
